JACOBS OFFICES

Our plan for interior design for this 65,000 persons firm was to incorporate a set of character standards that would subtly associate with the organization and its multiple offices around the world. Whether in Winerish, England, Dallas, Fort Worth or Houston Texas, Oakland, Irvine or Pasadena, California, the employees of Jacobs and the interface with their client would become associated with a single esthetic and efficiency of workplace.

An engineering company at its core, but aggressively supportive of the diversity and dignity of employees, a tailored spirit of each lobby and work environment became an esthetic constant. Jacobs had incorporated blue as a color in its brand which became a subtle but consistent glass color in each office. Focused on the future, the company esthetic was to be shown as simple and efficient, but a level of grace and sophistication added to the pride of each employees understanding of their common workplace.

The only Fortune 500 company with a plastic laminate board table, but with a sense of style was a simple way of defining this company. Meeting spaces with supportive food service facilities, casual seating for serendipitous adjacent conversations became an additive to the standard program and a large aspect of identity and caring about the Jacobs employees.
