LEAR CORPORATE HEADQUATERS
SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN
Set in a park-like environment of 36 acres, the Lear Corporation enjoys a new Headquarters office building of 103,000 square feet as well as a new vision works addition. The Master Plan provides for multiple other facilities in the future while still maintaining the park setting. The material of the site wall is a terracotta rain-screen and the primary building materials are coated aluminum and low-e glass.
Facing the street and hovering over the site wall is a textured glass panel screen. The facades oriented towards the garden are fully glass to take advantage of the private view. The lobby features a three-story glass enclosed communicating stair, and is adjacent to a 300-seat auditorium and a dining facility, which, in turn, extends outside to the garden. The executive floor also maintains a strong orientation to the garden with both a balcony and a tall sky lighted space at the periphery of each office.
