Office Building Renovation San Francisco

Originally designed by Philip Johnson, this post modern building featured 30' high figures standing on the building parapet and a lobby that reflected the style of the times by Philip which seemed to be derived more from a mausoleum than an office building.  In bringing the lobby character into the 21st century our design sought to maintain the overall character and most of the materials but to insert a white figured marble into the floor, anchored by free standing walls and a new reception desk.  We also found one of the original artists figures which added great continuity and personality to the lobby that many observers had missed by not being able to see the building top from the street.
